Driest month EVER!!
NYC sets new October records

It isn’t your imagination; October was a nearly rain-free month in the New York City area.

The rain gauges at Newark Liberty and LaGuardia airports and New York City’s Central Park all recorded the driest calendar month on record. Newark only had a trace of rainfall while LaGuardia and Central Park received only a 0.01 inches of rain all month. The previous record dry month was June 1949. John F. Kennedy airport also only received a 0.01 inches of rain in October, but it only set the driest October record.

The WeatherRadar showed a few showers rolling into the New York City area today, but the raindrops were still few and far between. LaGuardia and JFK airports have only reported a trace of rain today.
