Coastal low impacting Carolinas

Low pressure off the Carolinas coast has been knocking waves into the Outer Banks, making for a dangerous morning commute. Additionally, the flooding has brought another raised beach home into the water in Rodanthe.

The WindRadar shows gusty north-northeast winds shoving water into the North Carolina coast along N.C. 12. The waves were washing over the roads and cars on their morning drive.

Coastal flood warnings have been issued and the marine card in the Weather & Radar app shows waves could reach up to 8 feet with gusts to 45 mph, making for a very choppy coast.

On top of this, we have a full moon today! The moon causes more swollen tides over the next couple of days, adding to the rough situation. It's no wonder we've seen impacts in Rodanthe, N.C., as another home has collapsed due to the rough weather.

See how long the gusty winds last along the coast as this low continues to churn on your handy app.
