Rain continues Thursday
Georgia flood threat

Heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms will sweep across southern, central and southeastern Georgia today and Thursday.

As the WeatherRadar shows above, pockets of heavy rain will move over the same areas constantly. This "training" in weather speak, will produce rain accumulation exceeding 3 inches. A few spots in southeastern Georgia could receive more than 5 inches of rain.

Flash flooding is possible due to the saturated soil and the amount of rain that will fall in the next 24 hours. An added danger is the rainfall will fall after dark, making it hard to see the flooding.

Heavy rain hit the Ozarks on Tuesday, causing localized flooding. The link below includes a video showing water-covered roads.

Be sure to have alerts activated and be ready to act if a flash flood threatens.
